Cooking frozen peas

We eat peas quite often in our menu plan. They are cheap and really fast to cook. I add a handful of frozen peas to pasta salads and we eat them as our vegetable side dish.

  The package tells you to drop your peas in boiling water, and that is what I did for most of my adult life. But then I discovered this post about cooking peas in a skillet, and haven’t gone back.

 I simply sauté half a bag of frozen peas with three tablespoons of butter, 1 teaspoon of sugar and add salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. It only takes 5-7 minutes to cook these peas making them super quick and convenient. Try it! I guarantee you’ll look differently at that boring side of frozen peas.
