A Couple of Videos to Host Thanksgiving on a Budget

I came across these videos today and thought they might be helpful for someone. I love that these videos can be a springboard to give us ideas and that we can substitute other foods we prefer more. I hope your Holiday season is starting off wonderfully!

I look forward to Thanksgiving. It reminds me that no matter how hard life seems at the moment, we have a God that loves us and we, as Americans, have it a lot better than many people around the world.

We have celebrated in all kinds of ways. Most of the time we get together with family, but some years it was just my nuclear family, and some years we spent the day volunteering. There is no right way to celebrate, and no reason every year has to be the same. We just do what makes sense for our family at that particular time. This year we are celebrating with both my family and my husbands on different days. I am making the mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole for both families. These are not expensive side dishes to make, make a lot, and are very popular, so I feel like I am making a significant contribution even if I'm not spending as much as other attendees are. Sometimes I have to remind myself it's not a contest. It's an opportunity to be with the ones we love. Or at least like a little bit.

I hope everyone's Holiday planning is stress free and that we find Joy in all the planning, attending and celebrating. Happy Holiday Season!
